Just Some of Dfuse’s Successful Project Engagements:

Solution Architecture
Public Sector Client
For a federal agency using complex tracking and link analysis tools such as Analyst Notebook and SPSS Modeler 13, Dfuse created an end-to-end architecture to ensure secure data extraction, storage, and delivery. The system provides a way for Intelligence Analysts to perform analysis of Terabytes of structured and unstructured data, create charts and collaborate with other groups. The system is accredited for PL-3 compliance and will be used by several departments under the federal agency. Data storage requirements are well into Terabyte range. Dfuse consultants provided support in several major areas: Oracle Architecture and Portal, Text Extraction, .Net development and Business Intelligence reporting using Microstrategy. Oracle database supported PKI authentication, Oracle Label Security And Web Services. Dfuse’s recommendations, especially Oracle streams for replication, saved the client time and money in the overall development schedule.

Application Migration and Maintenance
Navy Medical Office
For a small government contractor, Dfuse performed a complete analysis of Oracle databases, MS Access front end and ASP webpages to design the migration strategy for migrating the application to a Windows 2008/Oracle 11G platform. Dfuse migrated the ASP pages to the new server while increasing the security profile of the application. Dfuse consultants created a complete ITIL based backup and recovery strategy for the application and the databases, along with putting all of the necessary software and hardware components in a CMDB for better support and traceability.

Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle WebCenter, ADF Development
Department of Transportation / PHMSA
The Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous material safety administration needed support on maintaining their Oracle Fusion Middleware platform and to create Oracle ADF components to enhance their WebCenter Portal. Using industry best practice solutions, Dfuse consultants created several portlets and integrated them in the current WebCenter Spaces applications. Used Oracle BPEL to assemble a set of discrete services into an end-to-end process flow, radically reducing the cost and complexity of process integration initiatives.

Oracle E-Business Suite and OBIEE
Synaptics
From requirements definition to configuration and installation, Dfuse helped design the overall architecture for the Oracle E-business Suite implementation.
We are following the PMBOK best practices in implementing the E-Business
Suite and the reporting infrastructure at Synaptics. We are maintaining,
enhancing and supporting the complete Oracle E-business Suite implementation
including Oracle HR, PO, Inventory, iProcurement and isupplier Modules.
Dfuse engineers provided critical 24X7 DBA support to
make sure that the system is always up and performs at the levels set forth in
SLAs. Dfuse engineers created state of the art Dashboard using OBIEE to
show various Key Performance Indicators to upper management and stakeholders.

Oracle Performance Tuning
Large Government Contractor
For a large government contractor, Dfuse performed a complete analysis of Oracle databases, delivered a comprehensive report on system weaknesses, and proposed practical but leading edge solutions. Using proven analytical techniques, Dfuse helped tune the database to comply with the users’ service level agreement (SLA). Query turnaround time actually exceeded SLA expectations. Dfuse helped improve backend data loads, alleviating system downtime and availability issues.

Technical Architecture and Software Development
Non-Profit Organization
This non-profit organization needed an operational data store (ODS) from financial and human resource systems that could be further used to load a data warehouse. Using industry best practice solutions, Dfuse consultants consolidated the data in a large ODS and designed the overall data load procedures. To help accurately disseminate information to down stream systems, Dfuse proposed an Application Programming interface that handled various data access types – from on-demand to bulk to nightly data dumps. This framework was then used by teams on other company projects. Dfuse consultants, using the latest technologies, also provided support on several software development projects, including Oracle PSP, HTMLDB, and Forms.

Oracle Database Management and Software Development
Commercial Shipping Registry
To enhance the legacy systems of this mid-sized company, Dfuse provided Oracle database management support and software development. Using proven methodologies, industry best practices, and in-house tools, Dfuse helped cut software development time by nearly 30 percent. For their flagship application, the Dfuse team used .Net and Sql server expertise for design and development support. We also supported their Oracle forms application, as well as the Oracle production and development databases.

Oracle Portal Design
Federal Government Client
From requirements definition to configuration and installation, Dfuse helped design the overall architecture for an Oracle portal. The portal serves as the central access point for applications and will eventually accommodate more than 200 applications. Dfuse documented the entire process, providing valuable guidance and reference tools for the client. Dfuse also trained the client team on how to effectively use the portal.
